Debbie Wong, CPA, CA, CRPC®

Debbie joined the investment services business after deciding to focus her time on helping people with their tax concerns through value-added services rather than through a fee-for service model utilized in public practice.
As part of our team of private wealth professionals, Debbie works with our financial advisors to guide their high net worth clients towards practical solutions to their tax issues. She has expertise in Canadian and U.S. personal tax, specific issues affecting U.S. citizens or Green Card holders, and cross-border tax (immigration and emigration). Debbie joined Raymond James in 2004 as the Tax Manager in Operations and then transferred to Private Client Solutions in 2013.
Prior to joining Raymond James, Debbie gained ten years of experience working in public practice as an expatriate tax manager at a major international accounting firm and articled at an accounting firm handling financial reporting and tax compliance for small business families. Debbie obtained her chartered accountancy designation (CA, CPA) in 1998. She also earned the U.S. Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor designation (CRPC®) in 2018 to expand her perspective on the unique planning needs of our cross-border clients.
In her free time, she enjoys relaxing and travelling with her husband, and taking a particular interest in nutrition and fitness methods to age backwards.
Vice President, Retirement & Financial Planning, Private Client Solutions, CFP ®, CIM®, CRPC
Margarita is the Manager of the national Retirement & Financial Planning team at Raymond James Ltd. She oversees financial planning activity across Canada, including preparation of financial planning reports for high net worth clients, enterprise software arrangements and financial planning supervision and compliance.
Margarita came to Raymond James from Nicola Wealth Management where she worked as an Associate Portfolio Manager & Advisor assisting ultra high net worth clients with discretionary portfolio management and tailored financial planning advice. Among other distinctions in the financial planning field, she recently earned the Chartered Retirement Planning Counsellor (CRPC) designation to assist US persons with their retirement planning.
As an eager learner who is passionate about technology, Margarita is currently advancing her education in Data Analytics as a way to leverage data to make better informed decisions.
Senior Trust Advisor, Raymond James Trust (Canada)
Damian McGrath is a Senior Trust Advisor of Raymond James Trust (Canada). He is responsible for the delivery of Estate and Trust services for Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Vancouver Island, BC. Prior to joining Raymond James, Damian worked in private legal practice and most recently held an Estate and Trust consultancy role for a bank-owned Trust company.
Damian is a member of the Law Society of Saskatchewan and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. He brings considerable experience and a practical approach to assisting clients with their estate, trust and legacy planning needs.
Jacqueline Knoblauch, CFP®
Estate Planning Advisor
Jacqueline is dedicated to providing clients with sound financial management advice - she takes an in-depth look at your business, personal life, assets, finances, risks and influences to build and implement an actionable plan that should ultimately result in higher net worth, lower risk, smaller tax liabilities and clarity along the way.
She specializes in tax planning for small business owners, finding creative ways to keep as much of their hard earned money with them and their family. She also works with high net worth families who want to create and maintain financial legacies for their children, grandchildren and beyond.
Born and raised in the lower mainland, Jacqueline graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2009 and has worked in the financial services industry ever since. Her experience includes brokering high risk loans and mortgages, mutual fund and insurance sales as an independent advisor, being a senior planner for a bank owned firm and most notably as the national insurance specialist for Raymond James. Her role as Estate Planning Advisor at Raymond James draws on all that experience and allows Her to think about the financial situation of clients and their business as more than just numbers on a balance sheet, given her experience with both personal and corporate finances through different advisory positions.
Jacqueline and her husband Jason have been together for over 10 years and live in the neighbourhood she grew up in. Their four year old twins, Audrey and William, have made her a better listener and strategic thinker, and she credits them for developing her ability to easily and with enjoyment, engage clients in conversation to really understand their family and business planning needs.
Neil Friesen, CFP®

Neil Friesen joined Raymond James Financial Planning Ltd., as an Estate Planning Advisor in April 2013. With more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, Neil Friesen advises clients on a broad range of insurance, retirement and estate planning strategies for individuals and corporations.
Approaches to Financial Planning
Neil understands that serving clients’ insurance and estate planning needs begins with building strong, lasting partnerships. He focuses on listening to each client because he believes everyone’s needs and financial goals for the future are unique. As an Estate Planning Advisor for Raymond James in Alberta, Neil puts his clients – and their needs – first.
Neil has a passion for education and strives to ensure each client fully understands the concepts and strategies that they discuss. Neil’s “big picture” approach with his clients helps them to understand how all of the pieces of their plan will interconnect and move them closer to their personal and financial goals.
Neil also works with a variety of tax and estate planning professionals in the legal and accounting professions in order to assist his clients in the implementation of their plans.

Neil graduated from the University of Alberta in 1992 with a Bachelor’s degree in marketing and finance.
He additionally completed his Certified Financial Planning designation in 2004. A firm believer in continuing education, Neil enhances his experience through ongoing continuing education.
Originally from Duchess, AB, Neil currently resides in Calgary, AB. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Lisa and their children, Zach and Taylor. When he is not working with clients, you will find Neil at the golf course in the relentless pursuit to break 80 and supporting his children in their chosen passions.

Uriah Kane is a Tax & Estate Planning Specialist with Raymond James Financial Planning Ltd. Uriah’s central role with the firm is to provide advanced tax and estate planning solutions using a broad range of different insurance-related strategies. His attention to detail, ability to communicate, and desire to be of service to clients are all hallmarks of his professional practice.
Uriah was born in Duncan BC, and graduated from Mount Royal University in Calgary with a Bachelor’s Degree in Policy Studies (a multi-disciplinary focus in Economics and Political Science), with a minor in Spanish, in April 2003.
In 2004, Uriah decided to pursue a career in financial services based on his keen interest in finance, and estate & tax planning. In addition to his 4-Year Bachelor’s Degree, and since joining the industry, Uriah has successfully completed his Life License Qualification Program (LLQP), Exempt Market Product (EMP) curriculum, Compliance Officer (CO) training, and Canadian Investment Funds course. In addition, Uriah also holds the esteemed Certified Financial Planner (CFP), & Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designations.
Away from the office, Uriah also offers his time and expertise as an Advanced Case Study Grader with the Business Career College, and their Capstone Course, which is a mandatory curriculum requirement for candidates working towards their Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
Outside of work, Uriah is actively involved in a number of administrative roles with his church, and volunteers his time in the community as an Executive Director with the BC Thanksgiving Food Drive. For fun, Uriah enjoys playing golf, tennis & squash, participates in men’s league basketball, and enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters in the outdoors.
